About Daniel
I am a Palestinian theologian from Bethlehem and a PhD candidate in Qur’anic studies at the University of Notre Dame. I received a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Florida, a Master’s degree in Theology from London School of Theology, and another Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from the University of Chicago. My academic interests include the study of the composition and redaction of the Qur’an, Syriac in Late Antiquity, Christian-Muslim relations, and Palestinian theology.
I am also a co-host of “Across the Divide” podcast, a theology podcast that explores the intersection of faith and politics in the context of Palestine-Israel. I am also on the organizing committee of the acclaimed “Christ at the Checkpoint” conferences.
Previously, I was an instructor of theology and comparative religion at Bethlehem Bible College where I taught courses on Islam, church history, and comparative studies. I was involved in launching several social entrepreneurship projects, including launching a coffeeshop, a coffee roasting business, and a glass-recycling initiative. I also founded Ultimate Palestine, the Palestinian national association for ultimate frisbee.
